From toilet cleaning to line marking, fridge filling, ground set up to doing draw times to coaching her U9 side you name it she does it. Nothing is ever too hard for her. Every club needs someone like Jess.
After that nomination, we wanted to have a further Q&A with Jessica to really understand this legend.
How did you get into your chosen sport?
I got into Rugby League because my son plays the game so I was always around it and involved somehow whether it was as the team manager or water runner, this year I decided to take the next step and have a go at coaching.
Do you have a favourite brand, product, or range that you like to buy from SportsPower?
Love Asics shoes have worn them most of my life very comfortable.
What is the best piece of advice you were given that made you better?
I was always told from a young age playing sport you play the way you training and to work hard out new skills.
Who is your sporting legend?
Jonathon Thurston the way he plays the game is amazing and his public interaction is something all professionals should strive for.
What else can you tell us about your story…
I played AFL for 20+ years, won a couple of premierships, made lifelong friends.
Moved states now my 9 year old son plays rugby league for the Mossman Junior Sharks Rugby League Club in Queensland where I was a supporter, then became team manager, threw my hand up to become a committee member which is where I am at now along with media officer, equipment officer, first aid officer, secretary and U9 coach. I love seeing the kids play the game they are so passionate about.
